The Authentic Religion

Jews      Shinto   Sikhism   Taoism    Unitarian  Neopaganism   Jainism

Religion is the relation of a person with God, with a code of ethics governing personal and social conduct, and a doctrine and goal for life on earth and the after death… religion is universal, man is a religious animal: Every man, sooner or later, asks the questions, who am I?, where do I come from?, where do I go to?…

There is evidence of religion since the earliest beginnings of the known humankind… and there is not any evidence of religion in animals, not even in monkeys, never a monkey ever built an altar nor a cemetery… Religion is unique, only for men and women, and for each man and woman of any color, raze, civilization and culture of all ages…

A Religion is a specific system of belief about deity, often involving rituals, a code of ethics, and a philosophy of life and after death… a system of thought, feeling, and action shared by a group that gives members an object of devotion and adoration, with a code of ethics governing personal and social conduct, and a frame of reference relating individuals to their group, the universe, life on earth and after death.

We have to tolerate, respect, and love every man and woman with the religion they practice… just as they are!. See Religions Tolerance

However, all religions are not obviously the same, all of them are not true, and they are not equally good, some of them have even committed terrible atrocities of which all of us are well aware of.

To be in error in Religion, is to have a "cancer in the soul"... it can ruin the life on Earth, and the eternal one after Death….

God loves us just the way we are, but he loves too much to leave us that way!… that's why he warns us in the Bible, and in most Sacred Scriptures, that we should help our neighbors in religious matter at least as much as we do in material affairs… our relatives, friends, neighbors… If I feel a relative or a neighbor has a religion full of errors or heresies, it is my sacred duty to inform him, and try to dissuade him from his error, always respecting his freedom and loving him personally… as God warns us in the Bible:
"God says: When I say to a wicked man, `You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him      from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his      blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die     for his sin; but you will have saved yourself (Ezekiel 3:18-9).

I can see this from my professional viewpoint: I am a Medical Doctor, and when I see a patient with cancer, I love the patient but I hate his cancer, and I try my best to eradicate it from him, even if it hurts... injections and surgery hurt!... and I "respect" the patient, even if what I do to him may hurt!... he wants it!... he pays me for it!.

Yes, my brother, you can love the person, even if you think his religion is wrong!… and the best proof of your love to him is to tray to eradicate that cancer of his soul!.

Common things of all Religions:

1- Heaven, Hell, Reincarnation:

One of the few elements that world religions share is the fact that man doesn’t live in harmony with the Ultimate Reality, with God, so man needs salvation from his present condition.

But the solution is very different from religion to religion:

For example, Hindus, Buddhist, Taoists, and most eastern religions, do not believe in Heaven nor Hell… what a surprise after death, when they find each one of them either in eternal Heaven or in eternal Hell… no reincarnation!… with God and the angels and the company of the good persons forever, or with Satan and the demons and all criminals for ever!… believe it or not, like it or not!… if it is a fact, it is a fact, no matter if you admit it or not… and God revealed us it is a fact for each human being… God Himself!, not just a theory, or a novel, or a myth, or a legend…

And in Heaven or in Hell as a person!… just like you are now, with the same soul and body you have now, well recognized by any of your relatives or friends…

For a Christian the solution is very clear and easy: God Himself became man to redeem us, to save us, so we can live and die in harmony with the Absolute, with God:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son" (John3:16-18)

And you can do it now, just believe in Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!… right now!…. and it is not just a matter of choice, it is essential for your life on earth and after death, because he who does not believe in Jesus Christ stands condemned and remains in the wrath of God, for "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." (John 3:31). See  Heaven and Hell    Reincarnation

2- Code of Ethics… Love:

Another element the world religions share is a good code of ethics for this life on earth…and the heart of it can be resumed in "love", "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18, Galatians 5:16).

However, the way to obtain love, or to have love, or to live in love, varies in the different religions.

We all want to love, all!… but the problem is that since Adam we all love ourselves, and selfishness is exactly the opposite of love. But if you have God within yourself, then you are going to love, and not you, but God who lives in you…. this is the easy solution for a Christian: "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20)… and if Christ is in you, Jesus is going to use your hands to feed the hungry, and your feet to visit the sick and those in prison, and your heart to love and help the poor and the needy, and your brain to teach those in error… and it is you, but it is actually Christ who lives in you!…

… and this is the essence of Christianity, to be another Christ!… not just a beautiful doctrine, or just to imitate Jesus, but to be another Christ on earth, and for ever in heaven… because if Jesus lives in you, you are going to have a glorious live on earth, full of joy and love, and peace, that nothing and no one can take away… and on top of it, you are going to eternal Heaven, praise the Lord!. (Rom.8)

… but if you don't have God within yourself, you are to live a miserable life on earth, trusting in the nothingness of yourself, or in the nothingness of your friends… you are not going to have love, nor joy, nor peace on earth… and, on top of it, you are going to end up in the real eternal Hell after death!.

3- God:

Here is another element that most world religions have in common: God.

But, again, there is a very different God from religion to religion:

   God as a "person":

    - For most eastern religions, God is not a person, he is not a "he", but an "it", a principle, a power, a force… for the Hindus of India, for the Taoists of China, for the Shintoists of Japan…

    - For the western religions, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, God is person, as person as a man or a woman, image and likeness of men (Genesis 1:26)… He who sees Jesus, sees God the Father (John 14:9).

    - For the original Buddhists and Confucianists, the word "God" is not even mentioned… their religions systems are not really "religion", but a psychological system for the Buddhists to cope with suffering on earth, and a code of ethics for the Confucianists to live on earth… both of them may eventually lead to God's reality.

The God of Hinduism and Christianity is totally different:

    - For Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, God is the Creator, but he is not his creation. For example, he is not an animal or a star... and an animal o a star are not God, though they are manifestations of the glory of God..

    - Hinduism provides a radically different idea, one which goes against the evidences of human senses. The idea is quite simple: Brahman (the "creator" god) IS his creation. The cosmos is not so much a creation, but more an emanation from him… every animal or human or stone or star is God, an emanation of God, a piece of God himself… this pantheistic conception of God is the one of Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Mormons, New Age…

Of course, these gods, an animal, a stone, a human, can not make a star nor even a leaf of a tree…

… This is a difficult concept to comprehend, for how can the "small" soul of each person or even a stone can be identical with the "large" God of the cosmos? But it is the comprehension of this very idea that becomes a central goal in the human life and in the resolution of the human problem for Hinduism....

    God Immanent or Transcendent:

    - For the western religions, God is immanent, he can be experienced and known: Judaism, Christianity, Islam.

    - For the eastern religions, God is transcendent, beyond the limits of experience and knowledge:

    God Reveals himself:

    - For the western religions, God reveals Himself in the Bible, Koran…

    - For the eastern religions, God does not reveals Himself, their Sacred Scriptures are not the Word of God, but the studies and writings of men, philosophers, novelists, epic writers…

Rama and Krishna for example never existed, only in the mind of the novelist who wrote the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, like Hamlet or Sherlock Holmes who never existed, only in the mind of the writer, or like the gods of Greece, Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite, who only existed in the mind of Homer when he wrote the Iliad… and afterwards, the Romans copied them changing their names to Jupiter, Apollo, Venus... but they never existed, and they do not exist now!.

Come to Jesus!: He existed, he was prophesied over 300 times during 2000 years before he was born, he made miracles to show he is God himself, he resurrected in the body, and he is alive now at your site… believe in Him, accept him in your heart, right now, and you will have life on earth and eternal glorious life after death,

    Monotheism, polytheism…

Of course, these totally different concepts of God lead to:

    - Monotheism: With a single God: Judaism, Christianity, Islam. In supratheism, the devotee participates in the religion through a mystical union with the godhead

    - Polytheism: There are many Gods, up to millions in Hinduism, Taoism, Shinto, Animism, Spiritism, Ancestor Worship, Totemism, Mormons, New Age, Neopagan religions…

    - Pantheism: Everything in the universe is God… all the polytheism religions.

    - Dualism: In the case of Wicca, one deity is female, the other male; in Zoroastrianism one is all good while the other is all evil.

    - Agnosticism: I claims we cannot know whether God exists.

    - Atheism: There is not God: Communism. The original Buddhism doesn't mention the word God.

The God of Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism:

   Hinduism:

Hinduism is not a unitary religion, but a multitude of religious and philosophical trends.

Three main patterns can be identified among them.

    - First, there is henotheism, the religion of the ancient Vedas and later Vaishnavism and Shaivism, which states that many gods exist, but one of them is more important than the others.

    - Second, there is pantheism, the perspective brought by the Upanishads and later Vedanta, which considers Ultimate Reality to be an impersonal transcendent being. It (neuter gender) is at the origin of any physical, moral or spiritual activity (see Brihadaranyaka Up. 4, 1-2; Chandogya Up. 3,18,1-6; Taittiriya Up. 2,6; 3,1)… this is the God proclaimed today by the Mormons, New Age, and many eastern religions sects trying to conquer the west.

    - Third, there are the Samkhya and the Yoga darshana of Patanjali that admit two ultimate realities.

According to the pantheistic view of the Upanishads and Vedanta, the gods are merely inferior manifestations of the supreme impersonal Brahman. However, they continued to play an important role for the average Hindu. The gods that are worshipped today are not the same as in Vedic times. The most important ones became Vishnu and his avatars (especially Rama and Krishna), Shiva and the goddess Kali.

As a distinct spiritual trend, Tantrism appeared in the 4th century AD. It is possible that it doesn’t have Vedic origin, because its theology is grounded on two deities that did not belong to the Vedic pantheon: Shiva and the Mother Goddess (Shakti), the goddess of land, fertility and life. The two deities Shiva and Shakti became the fundamental terms in which Tantrism developed a pantheistic view of life, Shiva as the transcendental aspect, the pure existence, and Shakti as the immanent and dynamic aspect, through which the phenomenal manifestation occurs.

    Buddhism:

1- The Theravada school, which claims to have guarded the unaltered message of its founder, teaches that there is neither a personal god, nor a spiritual or material substance that exists by itself as Ultimate Reality. The world as we know it does not have its origin in a primordial being such as Brahman. It exists only as a mental construction shaped by the senses. What we see is only a product of transitory factors of existence, which depend functionally upon each other.

That gods exist is not rejected, but they are only temporary beings that attained heaven using the same virtues as any human disciple. Gods are not worshipped, do not represent the basis for morality, and are not the givers of happiness. The Ultimate Reality is nothing but a transcendent truth, which governs the universe and human life.

2- The Mahayana Buddhism is a pantheistic religion, with an impersonal Ultimate Reality (the dharmakaya) and personal beings (the boddhisattvas) acting as intermediaries.
See Buddhism of Buddha, and  "Anti-Buddhist" Traditions

    Taoism:
Like the Hindu Vedanta or Buddhist Mahayana, Taoism states an impersonal Ultimate Reality that is both the creator principle and the eternal truth of universe. It is the Tao ("it"!), the immutable and unchanging principle that is the basis of multiplicity and the impulse that generates all forms of life.
In the same way as the Hindu Brahman or Buddhist Dharmakaya, Tao is the source in which originate and return all the manifestations of the world:

The God of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam:

1- The God of Judaism is the God of the Old Testament, God the Father of Christianity, so that the Old Testament is common to the two religions. He is a personal caring God, creator of heavens and earth, that reveals Himself through his wonderful works and through his Prophets in the Bible.

Judaic sects, such as the Kabbalah for instance, rejected the personal God and adopted a pantheistic view of Ultimate Reality: "Bear in mind, that before the emanations were emanated and the creatures were created, the upper simple light has filled entire existence" (The Tree of Life, 1). This "simple light" or "endless light" is not the personal creator of the Old Testament, but rather an equivalent of the pantheistic Hindu Brahman

2- Islam, also has a personal God as Ultimate Reality. Allah is presented in the Quran as an eternal being, transcendent and almighty. In the 112th Surra it is stated:

Say, He is God, the One!
God, the eternally Besought of all!
He neither begets nor was begotten.
And there is none comparable unto Him.
See Islam

3- Christianity holds a different position. God, the Ultimate Reality of the universe is the personal and triune God, only one God with three persons: He exists as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, without beginning and without having his origin in a primordial impersonal essence… and there are not three Gods but only one God!… it is the most glorious mystery reveled to mankind by God Himself.

Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ in Greek, long awaited by the Jews… he is God, the whole God. The 300 prophesies about the Messiah in the Old Testament were fulfilled to the letter in Jesus of Nazareth…. Mohammed was never prophesied!. See the THE MESSIAH (CHRIST in Greek).

Jesus proclaimed to be God, Mohammed never did.

Jesus Resurrected in body and soul, Mohammed never did.

God made Himself flesh to be the Savior of humankind, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son" (John3:16-18).

The only one Church of Christ:

Jesus founded only one Church, his Church!. I am a layman Catholic, I have no authority in the Church, and I believe that the Catholic Church is the only one Church that Jesus Christ founded. It is the real Authentic Religion: Universal, catholic, because it spreads all over the world, and because it accepts and teaches all the doctrines and life of Jesus Christ…. the whole truth revealed by God!.

Please look at The Only One Church of Christ

I encourage you, who are not Catholic, to consider it. I pray the Lord to guide you to the whole truth, and to give you the very special grace to accept it. Praise the Lord!. Thank you, Jesus!. Amen.
