Galatians 5:22-23 states the Fruit of the Spirit, with 9 fruits: "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control". They may divided into three groups for purpose of study: These 9 fruits are all related to each other, that's why Paul calls all of them "the fruit of the Spirit", and all should characterize our lives when we abide in Christ and Christ in us, by the power of the Spirit, for the glory of the Father, for our own good, and for the good of the Church. In contrast, St. Paul states the "work of
the flesh" with 15 works or acts, in the previous verses, Galatians 5:19-21:
